On 19 August 1966 the 1/11, Reg HHT, 37th Med, 541st MID, 409th RRU, 33rd Chem & 17th PID departed Oakland, CA onboard the USNS Sultan bound for South Vietnam.

On 20 August 1966 the 2/11, 28th Mil Det departed Oakland, CA onboard the USNS Upshur bound for South Vietnam.

On 23 August 1966 the 3/11, departed Oakland, CA onboard the USNS Barrett bound for South Vietnam.
