Blackhorse 4th of July
Please join the Washington, DC area veterans of the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment for a 4th of July celebration at Ft Myer, VA at the quarters of MG Guy Swan, 57th Colonel of the Regiment, currently the Commanding General, Joint Force Headquarters - National Capital Region and the US Army Military District of Washington.
We are working to re-establish the local chapter of the Blackhorse Association and this event will be our initial gathering. All current and former members of the Blackhorse and their guests are invited. This event and others around the country are the preamble to a Blackhorse Reunion in Williamsburg, VA in June 14-17, 2007.
We will begin with a picnic at MG Swan’s quarters starting at 1800. Cost is $10 per adult payable at the door to cover food and drink. We will move to Whipple Field overlooking the Washington Monument at approximately 2030 to view the annual fireworks. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on.
MG Swan’s quarters are number 12A across from the Ft Myer Officers Club parking lot, which is the best place to park. Directions to Ft Myer and a map are on the web at:
